The memorial is to commemorate the 114,000 of Victoria soldiers in World War I , of which 19,000 thousand on the battlefields of Europe at the expense of soldiers and construction.
↑ 这座庄严的建筑采用了希腊古典式的设计风格,
纪念馆的正面的浮雕取材于古希腊神话中的和平女神的图案,象征着这些士兵为和平而战。
↑ 馆内四个雕像,安放在纪念馆的角落位置。构造深受希腊与亚述的风格影响,当中并没有基督宗教的主题。
四个雕像群代表着和平、正义、爱国和牺牲，由雕塑家保罗·拉斐尔·蒙特福德所制。

几十年来无论这个城市发生了多巨大的变迁,也无论是春夏秋冬,这堆圣火总是默默地燃烧着,
它象征着那些为和平而献身的士兵们的灵魂永存！
↑ 屋顶堆叠整齐的砖瓦有个缺口,每年11月11日上午11点,会有一道阳光由缺口处照进馆里,
具馆内的解说员说阳光会准时的掠过碑文中的【Love】上,前后约12分钟。
当时在盖这座纪念馆时是有特别计算过的哟~~
↑ 在纪念大厅的正中心的地面上有一块黑色的纪念碑上面刻著【Greater Love Hath No Man】 的英文字体，周围摆放著各种各样的鲜花。此纪念碑也是墓碑，代表那些兵士们在海外打仗战亡，却没有被好好的埋葬，所以统一用这块纪念碑缅怀那些为了和平而献出生命的士兵。
沿着纪念馆两边的长廊，可以走到二楼的平台。大半个墨尔本城市一览无遗的映入眼中。

随后我们就去全澳洲最大的哥德式建筑，St. Patrick Cathedral 。
